May 7, 2024Building on Wintech’s long history of successful DLP® Light Engines for the additive manufacturing industry, Wintech
has developed the PRO4710A Industrial Light Engine. The PRO4710A is based on the existing 1080p PRO4710
platform, but now includes the dual LightCrafter DLPC3479 industrial chipset and a 40% increase in LED drive
current. This change in chipsets allows the PRO4710A to be more user friendly by utilizing Texas Instrument’s
LightCrafter software and GUI. This light engine is ideal for 3D Printing requiring HD projection in a small form factor.
The PRO4710A’s modular architecture allows for quick, low-cost modifications to the base light engine that
minimize both expense and time to get to series production. The PRO4710A is optimized for Luminus Devices CBM-
40 UV LEDs and supports monochrome projection. An all-glass optical architecture (including the prism and flys eye lens) and all metal mechanical architecture was
chosen to increase image quality and total system
efficiency. Wintech’s in-house wideband optical
coatings are optimized for 381-650nm. Optics
configurations are similar to the PRO4500 and
PRO6500 and are 0% offset. The available projection
lenses for the PRO4710 include a 36um, 50um, and
72um, lenses optimized for 3D Printing. Custom
lenses, if needed, can be fabricated in about three
months. Guaranteed minimum system light output for
the PRO4710A is specified at 1200mW @ 405nm and
1000mW @ 385nm. This results in energy densities
considerably higher than the PRO4710. Uniformity is a class leading >92% and the distortion specification is an astonishing 0.1%, perfect for high quality 3D printing
applications. Contrast ratio is over 800:1.
The PRO4710 incorporates a single PCB that places both the DMD-driver and LED driver circuitry to help control
cost. The system can operate at 180Hz at 8-bit grayscale or 1440Hz binary. One configurable input and two
configurable output triggers are available. Internal pattern streaming mode can eliminated the need for a video
interface and the onboard flash can store up to 1000 binary patterns. The DMD-driver PCB includes 12V locking
power connection, HDMI port for image transfer, RS232 serial port for system control. Thermal management is provided by heat sinking and active fans; however liquid cooling adaptations are available. The PRO4710A also
incorporates a LED junction temperature sensor for monitoring LED performance. The system size is 217x82x61mm
including the projection lens and weighs less than 1kg.
